I thought I'd update friends on what I've been up to creatively.
We bought a very inexpensive cool little grass hut beach umbrella, which is too big to use on our small patio, so we've stored it until we move one day.
It looks like this:
I continued painting trim in the bedroom and now it's just interior stuff I have to do. Closets. I'll get back to it tomorrow.
Also made my first bowl in a long time, this one has paper made from lotus flowers on the outside and lotus design paper on the inside. It's quite pretty, I think.

I just dutifully updated An Unsuitable Man with the second to last chapter to try to bring the envisioned small arc to a close.
And other than working on the last Say the Word, I've been spending a lot of time going through the beautiful icons at ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) italian_jewels. Can't wait to load them into my journals after I'm done.

 | 06:10 pm - Still more joy: I'm just a little bit in love
In real life. With M and L, two guys around my age, maybe a few years younger. They are utterly adorable and I get all silly-happy over them. I want to hug them close and keep them forever.
They haven't actually come out and said so, but I have good reasons to be pretty sure they're gay, and a long-time couple.
I adore both of them, but L in particular is just incredibly endearing and sweet, and his face gets pink and lights up with the most enormous grin whenever he sees me (and vice versa, I'm sure), and he gives me the most wonderful hugs.
They're both musicians, and I've had a chance to play guitar and sing with them on three occasions so far -- which is more way fun than ought to be legal -- and we'll be doing it again on Monday.
I don't think I've ever been platonically in love before. All the sweet giddy happiness, and none of the angst and fretting. I like this.
Can I keep them? Please? Like, forever? *hearts sweet, lovely boys*

This Saturday will mark eleven years since my dad passed away.
I made a post about the events surrounding the day he died last year. You can read it here if you like.
As it turns out, I have the day off work on Saturday. I think I would rather work that day. The work keeps me from thinking about it too much. Normally, it wouldn't be a problem, but I'll be home alone on Saturday. I'm also coming down with a bad cold or something. That's not a great time for me to be sick.
If anyone's online Saturday, drop me a note. I'm sure I'll need people to talk with.

It's really quite cool being in New Zealand right now, because it's not often that you get the kind of solidarity that we're seeing this morning as Truckies launch a mass protest. And no one is getting pissed off with them (which really wouldn't matter anyway) because who can blame them for protesting, given the petrol price rises we've all had to put up with recently and the threat of further taxes putting petrol up another 10 cents a litre.
I think Labour have dug their own grave this coming election and I can't say that I won't be happy to see them go.

This morning I am grateful for:
* Giles fanfic to wake up to in the morning.
* Morning kitty snuggles.
* Uninterrupted sleep, including sleeping in without any work phone calls waking me up!
* Last night during a table visit at work, I talked to a guy that was riding a Harley who went to Sturgis last year. He told me all about it and gave me a high five when I told him I'm going later this month, though not on Ripper. Perhaps another time. But it was a cool little bonding moment between bikers. :)
On another note... I've never ever never ever never ran a ficathon before. However, I've noted that there is very little Giles/Anya stories out there, but the few I've read have been excellent. There needs to be more out there. If I were to hold such a ficathon, would there be interest? Would people like that, want to read, and even more, want to write? The amount of interest I get here in comments will help me decide if I want to try my hand at holding a ficathon or not.
Hitting the shower and then Target. Whoo, my afternoons before work are so exciting!
